So currently I'm 6'1, and right at 350 Lbs. I wanna get down to 220 - 225, well I actually wanna go down to 200, and then go back up to 220 - 225 just putting on muscle, but same general idea. Basically I want some tips and ideas on the best way to reach that goal. I have until July of next year to be down in that weight range. A few things, I can not stand running, whether it's on a treadmill or outside, I hate it. I do enjoy using the exercise bike, and I love boxing. I'm not a big fan of weights, but have no problems with them, however there's not too many gyms close to me, and I wanna do stuff cheap. Currently i have an exercise bike, treadmill, punching bag, and small free weights at my house that can be easily used.

So pretty much just throw diet tips and/or ideas, as well as workout stuff, right here. Goal is to go from 350 to 200 in just over 1 year.

150lbs in 1 year is is about 3 lbs per week.. wayy faster than safe, sustainable weightloss.

You'd need a caloric deficiency of about 10,500 calories. at your weight, you'd burn about 1300 calories per hour boxing (total ballpark), so you'd need to eat only enough calories to maintain your current weight, and box 8 hours a week.

By the time you were down to like.. 250 you'd need like 14 hours a week of boxing to get the same impact.

You're best bet, honestly, is to set a modest weight loss goal and start there.

So, start with like, 20 lbs in 10 weeks.

If you can do it, try 25 in 12.

keep sloooowly upping your goal until you get there. But one year, if you did it safely, you could only expect to lose 70-100 lbs

all IMHO.

- cut out all breads
- cut out all dairy products unless you are calcium deficient in which case get it from cottage cheese
- take in a boat load of protein to increase muscle mass
- cut out all pork products
- limit beef to 1 or 2 times a week

Check out the other post by Evan for some exercise suggestion that don't need weights or a gym membership.

If you are seriously going to try and lose that amount of weight in a year, be sure to bath in a good Collagen based moisturizer, 2 to 3 times daily. If the skin is not moist enough it won't have the elasticity it needs to shrink back in and you will end up with a lot of excess skin hanging all over the place.

3 pounds a week is a realistic number for a man to lose every week and keep off. But bare in mind that you shouldn't go by the scale so much, but how you look and feel. You could easily put on 5 lbs of muscle while losing 5 pounds of fat, and the scale won't look any different, but in the mirror or how your clothes fit, you'll notice the change.

You need lots and lots of cardio. I would do at least thirty minutes of a consistent cardio activity everyday. If you sincerely love boxing, you should find a smaller guy who is more athletic to train with. He'll work at a faster pace which will make you work at a faster pace.

But the most important thing to any type of weight training activity or anything in life, you have to have dedication to the things you want to pursue.

Good luck.
