Draedan Reyes
05-27-2008, 10:45 PM
Last week, Draedan Reyes continued his winning ways as he, Santino Esposito, and Antonio Lopez defeated the team of Fire, Niji, and Pappa Razzi. I would have replays for this match, but due to some technical difficulties during the match, we do not have any video footage. What we do know is that Reyes and Lopez worked together to try to keep Santino out so that he wouldn't injure himself even more. Fire and Niji did work well through the match, tagging each other in to keep a fresh person in the ring.
Santino managed to get himself involved in the match when he got in the ring with Pappa Razzi. As Lopez and Reyes fought it out with Fire and Niji on the outside, Pappa Razzi took advantage of Santino's wound by hitting him hard in the ribs. Santino was in a lot of pain, but was able to hit the Blood Rain on Razzi for the 3 count. But what happened next, stunned the fans.
The lights went out, and a voice came across the PA system, warning him that payback is a bitch. And that now was the time for payback. A few loud cracks that sounded like a steel chair against someone's skull is heard. The lights come back on, and both Santino and Antonio are both laid out in the ring. Draedan is standing there looking shocked as he just stares at the two. He doesn't notice a steel cage coming down around him, or the fact that "The Demon Spawn" Tony Floyd is standing behind him. Reyes turned around, only to see Floyd there. Holding a piece of taped up cardboard.
Draedan found this amusing, and dared Floyd to hit him. He even bent over to give him a good shot. Floyd gives a good hard swing, hitting Reyes right in the head. This sends Draedan down to the mat in a daze. Tony then pulls out two pairs of handcuffs. He drags Reyes over to the cage, and promptly handcuffs him to it. Floyd looks at Draedan and yells "HERE IS YOUR GOD DAMN PAYBACK, BITCH!" Floyd swings again at his head, and again connects. Only this time, he busts Reyes' head open.
Floyd rips the tape off of the cardboard to reveal a speed limit sign. At this time, security is now on their way to the ring. Once again, the lights go out. When they come back on, Floyd has disappeared. The last we see of Draedan is of him still handcuffed to the steel cage, looking like a bloody mess.
With this development at Vengeance, Tony Floyd vs. Draedan Reyes 2 is on the card for the upcoming American Wrestling Federation pay-per-view, Dead End. "The Demon Spawn" is coming off an impressive win against Vladimir Davies. He comes into this match with 2 wins and 1 loss. That loss coming against "The X Factor" 2 weeks ago. Draedan Reyes is coming into this match with 2 wins, and no losses. One of only 3 superstars in the AWF to be undefeated. With both Floyd and Reyes coming off huge victories, it will be a brawl like no other. Each having the momentum in their favor from last weeks wins.
Will Dead End be true to it's name for Reyes? Or will he be able to conquer "The Demon Spawn"? This looks to be the start of something big for both stars. Floyd/Reyes 2. Lets the games begin...
We now join Draedan, who is in his locker room backstage after his match. There are a few medics in the room with him. He's pacing back and forth across the room, throwing stuff around as he does. As he turns towards the camera some, we see that he is still bleeding from the top of his head.
"I can't believe he did that! Who the fuck does he think he is pulling a stunt like that? Does he not know who he is dealing with?"
He grabs his leather suitcase, and chucks it across the room, almost hitting one of the medics. He stops for a moment, and looks like he is a little bit light-headed from the shots to the head and the loss of blood.
"Draedan, you need to sit down. You've lost a lot of..."
Draedan shakes his head, sending blood all over everything around him.
"I don't give a damn right now. What I need to do is go beat that big bastard's ass!"
"What you need to do is just chill out, man."
"Who are you to tell me to..."
Draedan turns around to see Santino Espostio standing in the doorway. He has his ribs wrapped heavily due to the hard hits that Pappa Razzi gave him during their match earlier. Draedan shakes his head and turns back around.
"Sorry, E. I'm just a bit riled up right now."
Santino walks into the locker room, holding his ribs. He grimaces some with each step.
"It's all good, Drae. The fact is, we still won. He may have pulled out this sneaky attack, but he will regret doing it."
Draedan wipes some of the blood off his face.
"You're damn right he will."
Santino walks over towards Draedan, while reaching in his back pocket.
"I do come bearing good news though."
Reyes turns around as Santino pulls out an envelope and hands it him.
"What’s this?"
Draedan looks over the envelope and starts opening it.
"Just read it. I'm sure it's something that you will approve of."
Santino takes a few steps over and slowly sits down on the bench. He grimaces in pain as he does. The medics start walking over towards him, but he holds his hand up to signal them not to. Draedan pulls out a piece of official looking paper and starts reading it. A smile comes across his face.
"You like?"
Draedan nods his head.
"You bet your ass I do. You didn't have to do this. He would have got his sooner or later anyways."
Santino lets out a small laugh.
"I didn't have to do anything. I was on my way down here when I run into Sable. He asked me if I would deliver that to you. I told him I had no problem doing so. He went his way, I came here. I had a good feeling of what it was."
"Looks like ole T-Flo didn't get his wish on the Philadelphia Street Fight though. The only reason he probably picked that kind of match, is because he can't beat me man to man. I proved that two weeks ago when I beat him."
Draedan grabs a steel chair, opens it up, and sits down on it backwards. He motions for the medics to come over.
"I guess I'll let you look at it now. Just be careful. I don't need to lose my stunning good looks from this."
The two medics look at each other with a disgusted look as he says this. One of them shakes his head as he starts to examine Draedan's head.
***The Next Day***
We see Draedan sitting on the front steps of his plush Park City, Utah, house. It's quite cloudy today, with light snow falling around him. He looks around at the snow falling on the already snow covered mountains around him. It's cold enough that we can see his breath as he sits there. He just has on a pair of sweat pants, a cut-off t-shirt, and a pair of sandals. On top of his head, we see a small white bandage here Tony Floyd hit him with the speed limit sign. He picks up a half full bottle of Dr. Pepper from beside him and takes a small drink. He screws the lid back on it, and sets it back down.
"Some people wonder why I would live in a cold place like in the mountains of Utah. I often wonder myself why I would time after time come back to this snow-ridden place. Fact is, there's many reasons I call this place home. There's not many places around where you can be away from everything, but yet still be so close to all the action."
Draedan looks down over the Historic Main Street area.
"If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's called the Sundance Film Festival. Every year, stars from all over the entertainment spectrum converge on this picturesque mountain town. From Hollywood A-Listers to the up and coming indy stars to the hottest and biggest names in the music industry. It all happens here. It's where I can meet up and mingle with all my friends. Once a year, this town turns into one big party. And you can bet, that I'm right in the middle of it all."
He points down towards one of the buildings on Main Street.
"Right there is the Egyptian Theatre. Not a lot of you people know it, but when the first Saw movie came out, it debuted there. And I was there for it. I met up with Danny Glover in the entrance area, and we started talking. He invited me in to sit with him as his movie played. I have to say, that movie was pretty good. Afterwards, we went to some after party..."
Draedan ponders in thought for a moment.
"I'm not sure exactly where it was. But needless to say, it was one hell of a party. In one hand, there's that. And on the other hand is this. Look around."
The camera pans around the quiet mountain town surrounded by snow covered mountains. On several of the hills, you can see people going up the ski lifts. Downtown, the Main Street Trolley is stopping, letting off passengers. People are walking around in their winter gear.
"This is my getaway. This is my retreat. This is where I come to relax and leave my cares behind. But, for some reason, I just can't seem to get my mind off of Dead End..."
He picks up his bottle of Dr. Pepper, and twists the cap off it. He sets the cap next to him, and takes a few swigs of his drink.
"Almost everybody I talk to says I should be worried about going against Floyd again, after seeing what he did to me at Vengeance. They all think I should reconsider going against him. They think that he could put an end to my short lived career."
He chuckles softly.
"They say, 'Drae, he's a crazed monster just waiting to tear you limb from limb.' Or 'He has the mentality to completely destroy you.' And not to forget my favorite, 'He scares me.' I just tell them not to worry about what he can do to me. But that they should be more worried about I'm going to do to him. Granted, he has a lot of size on me. But as the old saying goes, size doesn't matter."
***Sunday, May 25th***
Draedan is seen walking into Saint Mary's Catholic Church, which is located not too far from the Park Meadows Golf Club, in Park City. Draedan is decked out in an Armani dress suit, and stylish Armani shoes. He is still sporting the small bandage on his head. The church is about half full today. Draedan kneels down in the final row of pews, and puts his hands together. He rests them on the pew in front of him. He bows his head, closes his eyes, and speaks softly as he prays.
"Dear Lord... I come here today to thank you for everything you have given me in life. Having you in my life has been a true blessing. You have been by my side through thick and thin."
He gets sidetracked some as fellow church goers accidentally bump into the pew he has his hands rested on. He looks up at them, and they quietly apologize. He smiles at them, and lowers his head again.
"Lord, I know that someday, I will join you on the other side. I hope that you will see past the bad things I do in life, and let me be by your side. And Lord, please help my good friend, Santino Esposito. He was recently gunned down, and is trying to make a full recovery. And I know what you're thinking, but he is a good person. He is strong willed."
Draedan pauses for a moment, pondering on what to say.
"And also Lord. Please watch over my new friend, Antonio Lopez. He has had a long journey, and will have an uphill battle this coming Sunday. I don't know what kind of person he has been in the past. If you can look past the possible sins he has made and help him, I would be greatly in debt to you."
He stops for a moment, taking a deep breath as he does.
"My Savior, make sure my gracious father is taken care of. I know him and I have had our problems in the past, but he is my father. I will love him for as long as I breathe. And Lord, I know you may not approve of what I'm going to say next, but I feel I should say it. Please watch over my fellow wrestler, and opponent, Tony Floyd. I want him to be healthy as can be for our upcoming match. He is a great warrior, and he should be one hundred percent ready for his battle against me."
Reyes reaches up and lightly scratches around his wound on his head. He grimaces some as he runs his hand across it. He brings his hand back down to where it was before.
"And finally Lord, please forgive me for whatever sins I may induce between now and the end of my battle with Tony Floyd. For I may do some unbearable things along my travels this week, and into next weekend. Again, thank you Lord for being my Savior, and being with my along my journey through life."
Draedan raises his head, and looks towards the ceiling.
"Amen."
While still kneeling down, he touches his hand to his forehead, brings it down around his chest, then moves it to his left and right shoulders. He pulls a small platinum cross from under his suit coat, and kisses it. He slides up onto the pew as the bishop starts to talk. He remains seated there for about 15-20 minutes before quietly getting up. He starts walking back towards the entrance doors. He is just about to open them, when someone opens it from the outside. He stands to the side, and grabs onto the door. He motions them to come on inside, while giving them a smile. An older couple comes walking through the doors.
"Thank you, kind sir. God Bless."
Draedan smiles at them.
"You're very welcome."
They walk past him into the church. Draedan pauses for a moment, as he is looking at the statue of God on the cross. He nods his head as he turns towards the door and walks out. Snow is coming down, but not very hard on this Sunday morning. Draedan starts walking down the sidewalk as a small ray of sunshine pokes through the clouds.
"Not many people realize that I go to church every Sunday. In fact, I've been going every Sunday for 7 years now. It helps me clear my head on a lot of things. Especially when I have speed bumps ahead of me. I know the Lord will be there for me and help me through it all. And I just hope that he will have some mercy on Floyd. For I will reek havoc and beat the living hell out of him..."
Draedan approaches a coffee shop called Bad Coffee of Park City. He opens the doors, and the fresh aroma of coffee hits him. He takes in a deep breath and sighs. He smiles as he walks in.
"Good morning, Drae. The usual for you this morning?"
A younger woman, presumably in her mid 20's, is standing behind the counter. Draedan approaches the counter, and leans on it.
"Absolutely, Gina. I'll be having it for here today."
Gina smiles at him and pats his hands.
"I don't blame you. it's kinda dreary today."
She turns around and grabs a big coffee cup. She grabs a few canisters and heads to the coffee machine. Draedan sits down on one of the stools at the counter.
"Yes it is..."
The scene fades to black as Gina continues with Draedan's coffee and conversation.
Santino managed to get himself involved in the match when he got in the ring with Pappa Razzi. As Lopez and Reyes fought it out with Fire and Niji on the outside, Pappa Razzi took advantage of Santino's wound by hitting him hard in the ribs.
