I'm pretty happy with my teams in all three leagues, but for whatever reason, Brian P would not let me have Brett Favre in FYF, so I only have Brett Favre in two of the three leagues.

My geekball team sucks ass. Damn ESPN autodraft blows. Sage Rosenfels as my only roster QB?!?!?

Somebody please trade me a Quarterback.

That's priceless.

James has the deepest league, by far, and the only QB you got handed was Sage Rosenfels?

Well, I've got Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Carson Palmer, and Brett Favre in geekball, so I'm probably the guy to see in regards to a QB.

no, no, no

I need a qb first.

Sage Rosenfels, come on.

Make an offer, and I'll let you know.

Those four QB's are really all I got, as my RB and WR's are horrible.

JimSardonic
09-03-2008, 08:43 PM
Geekball:
I need a RB. Chester Taylor just isn't going to cut it. I've got some decent WR's and at least 2 solid QB's (depending on how Smith does this year), so I'm certainly willing to part with some of my better players for a solid RB.

I got bonered in this auto-draft, but ended up fairly well in both of the others :)

The Geekball draft didn't snake. So, some of the picks may look shitty because of this. I picked 15th - 31st - 47th - 63rd.

While the top pick got... 1st, 17th, 33rd, 49th...

The draft started to snake in the 4th round. This is a keeper league, and half of the teams are hurting from the autodraft, or draft order alone.

Dave W
09-04-2008, 06:42 PM
While it was my own fault for falling off the radar. I hope whomever has assumed my "championship" spot in the G33kb4ll league has the best of luck in schooling those wily veterans.

In the meantime, I'll be laughing my way from W to W after a good draft in FYF (though I am guessing this is partially due to a total of 4 teams being able to show for the draft)

Good luck everyone.

And yes, I'm still alive. In theory

Paul

Apparently not showing up for the draft means I end up with Jeff Garcia as my starting QB.

And in record time (half of one quarter) my season hath ended barring some very slick miracles.

Thank you once again Mr. Brady for finding a new way to bring misery to football

I'm looking sexy in Geekball and Dub Ef, but thanks to my freaking Chargers Coach and Colts Defense, I'm looking fucked in FYF.

Fuck the Colts and the Chargers.

09-16-2008, 11:58 PM
Brady going down killed my team in Geekball. Especially with how draft dependent that league is, I'm fucked. It'd be one thing if there was a chance of picking up somebody else, but there's no such thing as a free agent pool in Geekball.

Shit, I'm starting kick returners just because they're consistent points, that's how bad I am in Geekball.

Adrien Cochrane
09-18-2008, 09:19 AM
I <3 you, Gip.

BigPimpin
10-06-2008, 08:17 AM
Fun Geekball fact:

The lowest scoring team defense in the league (Detroit) is one point higher than the highest scoring offensive player in the league (Jay Cutler)

I'm in decent shape in FYF. The other two I'm borderline, but in better shape if Adrien Peterson can somehow stay under 20 pts. Good luck Dubs.

Adrien Cochrane
10-06-2008, 09:36 AM
When Gip dumped Brees on my Geekball team, he created a monster.

Yeah, Adrien's scoring system is hella fucked up. I can't never figure that shit out.

Well, he got 120 points, so I'm good. :)

Second consecutive 3-0 week, it's so nasty.

Adrien Cochrane
10-07-2008, 09:45 AM
Believe it or not, I won my FYF game because of the guy who caused the Saints to lose. Antoine Winfield was one of my defensive players. Kinda bitter-sweet.

And how the hell am I 5-0 in Geekball?

BigPimpin
10-07-2008, 09:57 AM
Wow, a 3-0 week. Unbelievable. :) I actually went 5-1 in all six leagues, and I should have won the sixth had I started Delhomme over McNabb

bw301

In one league, I have Adrian Peterson. In another, I have LT. Both have been stellar disappointments.

~ < o > ~
10-10-2008, 12:03 AM
I'm doing alright thus far.

4th in points in FYF, 4th in Adrien's league, 2nd in Geekball. Unfortunately, I'm only 3-2 in every league, which keeps me on the fringe, but I'm putting up lots of points, so things are looking good.

I can't believe I'm 2nd in Geekball, considering I lost Brady in the first week, but whatever.

bw301
10-10-2008, 12:08 AM
In Geekball, I didn't realize that once you put a player in IR, you lost him for the season. I assumed it was like Yahoo where if a player is inactive, you can place him in an injury spot and replace him until he recovers. My season is pretty much shot now. Maybe it's time for a firesale.

~ < o > ~
10-10-2008, 12:12 AM
I don't know, I've never tried to take anybody out of the IR.

Are you sure? I just reactivated Shockey from IR and they didn't give me any grief. Only catch is that I had to clear a spot on the "active" roster, but with the AIDS that is on my bench (so long, Brad Smith!), that wasn't a problem

10-15-2008, 10:54 AM
I love that James is 4-2 in FYF, and I don't think he's even been playing this year. That, and Geekball is so ridiculously top heavy, that I'm 4-2, and not even positioned to be in the playoffs. In Geekball, your team is either awesome, or horrendous.

Jeff Fox
10-15-2008, 11:25 AM
FYF has been tough for me. I lost week won by a couple points, and then it looks like I lost because of bench points after a points correction. Then my other loses I got destroyed by DP's by Gip. I mean 74 points fro 2 DP is insane. And BW had a great game against me. I'm lucky to still be in it though since my division is a bit lackluster performance wise.

JimSardonic
10-15-2008, 12:43 PM

bw301
10-15-2008, 01:36 PM
It's hard because the leagues have 3 completely different scoring systems. You need to have 3 different strategies to stay competitive.

~ < o > ~
10-20-2008, 01:13 AM
I hate Geekball's defensive scoring system so much.

The Minnesota Vikings Defense scored 46 points this week. They gave up 48 points, something like 400 yards offense, and they scored 3x more points then Tampa Bay's defense, which beat Seattle 20-10, and only got 16 points.

But yeah, I sucked balls this week. In FYF, I actually did pretty good, except for my combined -60 from Defense and Head Coach. That will pretty much gaurantee a loss.

In Geekball, I've got Chambers/Addai/Palmer/Brady/Curtis/Branch.. Freaking everybody is hurt. I had to throw together a makeshift bullshit team, and I couldn't overcome it all.

I just got my ass beat in Adrien's league, can't really reason much with that. The other two games were winnable.

Jeff Fox
10-20-2008, 08:01 AM
As long as Matt Cassel doesn't put up a 60+ point game I got FyF locked this week. I was hoping for help from you Gip this week to give me a bump in the standings over Paul but oh well. At least I broke 200 points again.

Adrien Cochrane
10-20-2008, 10:03 AM
Barring something catastrophic, I'm back to my winning ways in Geekball and FYF despite Brees having an off day.

BigPimpin
10-20-2008, 12:42 PM
James is the luckiest son of a bitch alive in FyF.

It would figure, in the week he starts 4 0's, all of the below happens:

-Reggie Bush gets hurt
-Brett Favre sucks ass
-Marques Colston, previously picked to play, got no points
-Dallas lays a fat egg at St Louis, costing me 15 points

Now I need a Denver blowout to make up the difference between us.

~ < o > ~
10-20-2008, 12:56 PM
JB is also really good at winning games without submitting line-ups in the two leagues he's in.

James sucks in the other two leagues, but for some reason, people can't beat him in FYF.

bw301
10-26-2008, 11:19 PM
Gip, I apologize ahead of time for this week's game in Adrien's league. That scoring system is screwy.

~ < o > ~
10-27-2008, 12:41 AM
Your kick returners did a lot better then my kick returners.

bw301
10-27-2008, 02:27 AM
It seems like in that league everyone has their best week against you.

Adrien Cochrane
11-03-2008, 04:27 PM
I need a combined 21 points from S. Moss, Portis, and cooly to beat BW in FYF.

Unless I get triple digits from Jason Campbell in my league (it might be possible), JB beat me.

And in Geekball, I need this equation to be true:

Santana Moss + 21 points > Rock Cartwright + Hines Ward

I'm really getting used to 2-1 weeks.

~ < o > ~
11-03-2008, 04:31 PM
I sucked in FYF this week, and I might not win. Once again, a -30 defense has hurt me.

I did good in the other two, though.

bw301
11-04-2008, 09:42 AM
It's funny. I'm doing my best in the league that I was most worried about at the beginning of the season and I'm in the middle of the pack in the leagues I was most comfortable.

BigPimpin
11-04-2008, 09:48 AM

When do the playoffs start in these leagues?

Adrien Cochrane

Week 15 in all leagues.

~ < o > ~
11-18-2008, 07:04 AM
In FYF, I love that nobody in Division Y wants to win any games, but everybody in my division wins them.

I'm in freaking first place, but should I lose a game, there's a chance I could drop all the way down to fifth place if I have a really bad week, thanks to how close my division is.

Meanwhile, Fox/Paul/Cooke are fighting over the third playoff spot, and I doubt any of them end up with a winning record.

I've got show-me games in FYF @ Nighthawks, and Wifwah @ Carfagno, and a gauranteed win in Geekball. I think if I actually get positive points on defense in FYF, I'm good, as my FYF team is ridiculously consistent. Hell, I had 235 points this week, with a -20 defense.

BigPimpin
11-18-2008, 08:59 AM
Ah, the schedule must be repeating in FYF. Here we go again Gip. Good chance Bush comes back for me this week, tho, which is bad news for you.

Adrien Cochrane
11-18-2008, 09:15 AM
In FYF, I think a win will be a clinch in Division Face. My league, I just plain out suck, and in Geekball, I think I already clinched.

Jeff Fox
11-18-2008, 09:37 AM
Oh I want to win games. The most annoying part is that for the last three weeks my opponents have been predicted to score around 70 points and me around 180... and everytime I end up losing.

I need drastic lineup changes, sigh.

Edit: I just checked. I'm 4th in points scored in the league and #1 in point scored against.

That's a horrible combo.

Paul
11-18-2008, 01:59 PM
I pretty much gave up on my team. Too many injuries to my key guys, and the fact there are no decent replacement QBs on the FA list to snatch up.

~ < o > ~
11-23-2008, 11:55 PM
I think if I actually get positive points on defense in FYF, I'm good, as my FYF team is ridiculously consistent.

Another -20 on defense, and I'm pretty sure that cost me the game in FYF. I need Charles Woodson and Aaron Rodgers to make up 38 points and match Colston, which is hardly a given. Rodgers will put up 20, atleast, and Woodson can go off, but he can also only score 10-15.

I'm not free sailing in Adrien's, but I'm looking okay. Geekball was a gauranteed win, and I knew that going in.

BigPimpin
11-24-2008, 11:06 AM
I'm in too many leagues being decided by this game that, to me, I'm just gonna have to go with it.

The following people must suck enough for me to win,

Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Charles Woodson, Lance Moore, GB Defense as a whole

While the following people need to do well:

Mason Crosby, Ryan Grant, Marques Colston

Sounds like I need a bad weather game.

Oh wait, it's in a dome. /facedesk

Louisiana Superdome!! The site of my New Orleans Saints and the clinching of my fantasy team over Brian's! (Technically, Brees needs to throw for about 500 yards and six touchdowns for me to beat Brian, but let me hold on to this little bit of hope.)

bw301
11-25-2008, 01:14 AM
For the 2nd straight week, my opponent in Geekball has put up ungodly numbers compared to the rest of the league: 8 touchdowns, and roughly 1100 yards for a 257 score.

And thanks to top the week off, I lose in FYF by bench points.

~ < o > ~
11-25-2008, 05:25 PM
Well, that could have went better. I ended up losing both games, but it's whatever.

In FYF, my entire four team division is currently in the six-team playoff, that's how bad everyone else sucks. The Rampage/Retro division is gonna go down to the last week when they play eachother, since they both got chump matches in their chump division this week. Only way they both make the playoffs is if Wolfe loses the next two games, so they're both playing for one spot, unless Wolfe can't win a game.

Myself, Adrien, Brian, and Dubs are pretty much guaranteed our playoff spots in FYF, so I'm just playing for placement right now. I need to figure out how to get to 6th, or 2nd place.

BigPimpin
11-25-2008, 05:42 PM
Yeah, for some reason I have the least points allowed in FyF. Go...opponents having bad weeks? I think I'm also the lowest scorer in my division and the lowest scoring division leader, but I somehow score more points than my opponent every week, which is I guess what matters.

Geekball I needed that win so bad. Now I have the one-game lead for the division since I beat BW way back in the day.

Meanwhile, in Adrien's league it's all about seeding, since the six playoff teams are set. Carfago has the 1 seed on lock, it's just a matter of who wins my division.

bw301

11-30-2008, 11:42 PM
Yeah, locks for wins in Geekball and WfWA, and if Wolfe can come back in FyF when I have a 70 point lead, I'll be impressed, but this definitely was a week where my defenses carried me through.

Jeff Fox
12-09-2008, 03:50 PM
And I backdoored my way into the FYF playoffs and hopefully I'll bounce back this week from my piss poor def choices. I lost 86 points because I picked the wrong defense... I'm such a dumb ass.

Good luck to the peeps in FYF.

BigPimpin
12-10-2008, 10:19 AM
My Geekball team is fucked in the playoffs if Portis is injured. Cleveland sucks. :P

FyF I have playoff bye, and WfWA I have Gip, which should be an interesting match if my WR's show up.

2008/09 FYF Football Champions: The West Haven Potato Peelers, led by a trio of quarterbacks in Jake Delhomme, Jay Cutler and rookie sensation Matt Ryan along with mid-season acquisition Deangelo Williams(thanks to whoever decided to drop him.)

2008/09 Dubb Ef Dubbya Aye Football Champions: The Marlboro Red, led by a corps of well rounded atheletes. They can run, they can catch and they can return kicks: Eddie Royal, Pierre Thomas, Jerious Norwood and Darren Sproles proved to be too much and recieved even more support from Tony Romo(when healthy), LT, Antonio Gates and Roddy White. Hell of a year in FYF. You're welcome on Deangelo Williams, fucker didn't start producing till after I dropped him. That's my luck though.

Of course I put up 315 points in the last game of the year and it didn't matter...

Though putting up 315 points is still cool.

Here are ten sleeper success stories off the top of my head:

1) Deangelo Williams...started the season as a timeshare and ended as a touchdown factory.

2) Michael Turner...who would's thought he'd out produce LT?

3) Kurt Warner...every auto drafter that saw his name got light headed...until he started tossing 300 yards per game and became the permanent starter.

4) Eddie Royal...Rookies aren't supposed to have his type of year. He was a legitimate No. 2 and sometimes No. 1 reciever.

5) Matt Ryan/Joe Flacco/Tyler Thigpen...Again, rookies aren't supposed to be this good.

6) Derrick Ward...He made the best out of a timeshare and capitalized on Brandon Jacobs's injuries.

7) Sammy Morris...Thanks to Lawerence Moroney and Lamont Jordan both hurting all year, he turned into a No. 2 back.

8) John Carlson...Another rookie success story, he rose to being just outside the upper echelon of tight ends.

9) Clinton Portis...He's old, check. He's banged up, check. He produced, big old check.

10) Bernard Berrian...Vikings WR's were never started before this year.

How about Matt Forte as well. He's 100% a keeper for me and in FYF he tied Deangelo Williams as the point scoring RB's....

I'm a idiot.
