Even as a gigantic wrestling fan, I can't really make this claim.. sort of an apples to oranges debate in my eyes.

Thoughts?

Angle speaks......

Kurt Angle recently sat down with SLAM! Sports and had the following to say about which he prefers, pro wrestling or MMA:

"In wrestling, there's a story in every match. In MMA, you cannot tell that story. There is not story in a 'shoot' fight -- you either get knocked out, choked out, tapped out, or you make it and the referee decides who wins by decision. It becomes very difficult to tell a story in a worked shoot.

"I believe pro wrestling will always be around. People like to lose that touch of reality for a couple of hours and watch the show and have fun. Going out there, and cutting a promo, or heeling in a match and the crowd are booing you, and they're becoming emotionally involved -- that's what makes it fun. Wrestling's a beautiful art. I'm a big MMA fan, and I think wrestling's way better."

Wasn't it Kurt Angle who was so dead set on being a MMA star cause it was so much better just 6 to 12 months ago. Fuck Kurt Angle and his shit spewing mouth.

Eh, times change. Remember when Brock Lensar had his hopes set on being in the NFL?

I guess Dana wasn't willing to pay him what he wanted then.

I don't know if Angle wanted to do MMA, but I read an interview he did right when he signed with TNA, stating he wanted to work some shoot fights in Japan.

That dude talked SO MUCH bullshit about trying MMA, and he never even tried. Companies would of lined up to give Angle fights.

I'll give Lesnar credit, he'll go out, and risk looking inadequate. Dude hadn't played football in a decade, and he opts to try to join the NFL. Obviously, he had no chance in hell of making it, but the dude tried. The fact that he got an extended tryout was amazing enough, as he really didn't have no business even being there.

Angle didn't even try, just talked all of his bullshit about planning to try.

Angle did try.

UFC wanted him to quit wrestling, he said no, they didn't sign the deal.

Other companies wouldn't pay him what he wanted.

Thanks for trying, though.

He did not try.

As you stated, he didn't do it, because the money wasn't good enough. You don't cut as many interviews as that guy did, and then not bother doing it because the money wasn't right.

Of fucking course UFC would want him to quit wrestling. Lebron James isn't allowed to play a fucking pickup game unless it's sponsored by the NBA, and you honestly think Angle wasn't aware that UFC was going to tell him he couldn't wrestle?

He didn't try. He just told everybody he could beat Liddell, that he could beat Couture, and he never even tried. The dude's a fucking millionaire, if he wanted to do something, he can.

He just didn't want to do it.
