Reporters today caught up with current World Wrestling Alliance owner and Gladiators of the Eternal City promoter Victor Mandrake and answered a few questions for once instead of blowing off the press as usual.
On Path to Glory and Crown of War:
Path to Glory is relatively self explanatory. It was created as a one time event to resolve a couple of problems within the alliance, starting with Josh Styles. Mr. Styles apparently believes that winning Summer Games wasn't enough to satiate his ego. Now, he wishes to spit upon one of the greatest prizes that our alliance has to offer by offering it on a silver platter to anyone that would dare lay claim. I have set up Path to Glory to give Mr. Styles a stage in which he will personally embarrass himself when he loses his number one contender's spot and proceed to cement himself as the worst Summer Games champion in history.
As far as the miniature tag team tournament is concerned, that was originally going to be set up for the GEC's first PPV, A Glorious Death. The concept itself is exactly the same as I had planned for the GEC, to invite the best tag teams around to compete for my federation's belts and the number one contender's spot to face The Conspiracy at Crown of War. Since Mr. Styles had spoken up, however, I saw the opportunity to bring more exposure to a division which has been in a recent lull.
And as for Crown of War, information on what exactly it is and what it will entail will be made known at Path to Glory. I can tell you that it will be a conceptual PPV, like Summer Games, and it was created by the same minds who came up with the Summit Tournament.
On GEC's PPV, A Glorious Death:
A Glorious Death is the GEC's first PPV, and I've set a couple of things into motion that will ensure that it gets the proper attention that it deserves. For example, it is no coincidence that Rick Royson and the Nightbringer will face off in the first bracket of the Colosseum Championship Tournament at the very end for the chance to proceed to the championship match should they make it that far. I also believe that Justin Brooks will get a big surprise when facing R.W. Hoffmann. I've been keeping my eye on Reinhardt for a while, and I truly believe that the slightest push will make him careen off the edge into utter, irreversible madness, something I would very much like to see. I think Justin Brooks and the tantalizing morsel of a championship title may just be that thing.
On NRC's demands:
First of all, the Nightbringer doesn't make demands. He has no authority to do such things. I took care of that at Summer Games. But, nonetheless, I will take heed of his requests and give him an answer:
No.
What Mr. Corey doesn't seem to realize is that I will sacrifice every single person in this alliance before caving into what he wants before I want him to have it. I want to see him hurt people. I want to see him with bloodstains on his hands and a crimson mask on his face. By continuing this crusade of violence and bloodlust, he's really just giving me what I want. He may eventually get what he wants, but as it stands, the pile of bloodied and broken just isn't high enough to garner such rewards. He needs to remember that it was he who backhandedly signed himself into a contract with my federation, and as such, needs to deal with the consequences of his actions.
On David Paige and Sergeiev Bogorovich:
I'm betting that Mr. Paige is sitting somewhere right now expecting me to start raving like a lunatic about how I'm going to kill him, his family, his pets, and his reputation and status for staging his little coup on my show. Truthfully, I tip my hat to David and Serbo for successfully pulling that off. It's been a while since I've suffered a concussion, and that was my first Grade III. However, don't let my admiration for a successful plot lead you to believe that I'm simply going to let something like this slide. Far from it. David thinks he's invincible. Untouchable. He'll even go so far as to say that he knows he is. What happened at HRW last month was just a taste, a mere sampling of the menu that I have prepared for him. I can take the retaliation. I can take the humiliation and the pain. I can deal with concussions and dislocated shoulders. Can David say the same? Will he be able to keep the noose from slipping around his neck when his pride and dignity have been stripped from him? Will he be able to face the press when he's confined to a wheelchair, an empty, hollow husk of his former self? Or will he just send his new lackey Serbo after me again, the fearless and foolish Russian? It'd be awfully hard to do that if his primary weapons are severed from his body, leaving him as deformed and useless as a Chernobyl victim.
It was at this point Mandrake stopped the Q&A session, citing important meetings that he was going to be late for.
More on this as it develops.
